In 2010 we were commissioned by North Tyneside Council to produce an exhibition to celebrate the centenary of the construction of the Spanish City Dome in Whitley Bay.
The Dome of Memories exhibition ran during Heritage Open Days in 2010 and 2011. In 2010 it was the second most successful HODS event in the country, attracting 15,000 visitors over three days. We researched, wrote, designed, and installed the exhibition. We also commissioned films and projections which were shown inside the Spanish City Dome.
After the highly successful Heritage Open Days exhibition in 2010, we were asked us to produce a book with an in-depth history of the Spanish City. Researched, written and designed by us, the Dome of Memories book was published in February 2011.
A new edition of the book was published by North Tyneside Council to celebrate the reopening of the Spanish City Dome in 2018. Our original book was much-updated, with new information and many more photographs of the history of the iconic fairground and Pleasure Buildings.
